First Pre-Built AMD Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” Processors Available for Pre-Order Alongside CPU Presales, Demand High Ahead of China Launch
Chinese hardware retailer JD.com has finally listed AMD Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” desktop processors. The processors are listed on a dedicated page, along with several details explaining the pre-sale and pre-order process. The page also lists several rewards that users can access, as well as a range of pre-built PCs featuring the latest Ryzen 9000 processors. Plus, the best part is that these PCs are already listed with prices so you can get an idea of what these chips will retail for.

The pre-sale process in China is a little different from other markets, including the US and EU. Customers will be able to place orders on JD.com from July 26 to August 15. Those who pre-order the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X and Ryzen 7 9700X processors before the launch will receive a “Once Human”-themed Valkyrie R125 Loki CPU cooler as a gift. It is a tower-style CPU and features a magnetic LED cover on the top that can be customized. The cooler will be given to the first 150 pre-orders.
Moving on to the more interesting details, JD.com also lists the total number of pre-orders that have been made and it seems that the initial reception is very positive.
Although testing won’t be released until next month, the Ryzen 5 9600X and Ryzen 7 9700X have managed to garner over 2,500 pre-orders, while the Ryzen 9 9900X and Ryzen 9 9950X have racked up over 3,700 pre-orders (as of 7/27/2024). Placing a pre-order means that customers will have to pay a small fee to fulfill their orders when the chips finally launch. This is to prevent fake pre-orders.

The PCs come with 16GB of DDR5 memory (5200 MT/s), 500GB of NVMe storage, a B650 motherboard, chassis, PSU, and air cooler. These alone should be worth around $150 USD, which gives us around $250 USD for the Ryzen 5 9600X and $370 USD for the Ryzen 7 9700X processors.
Overall, these prices seem very attractive for Chinese customers who are considering buying new PCs powered by the latest AMD Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” desktop processors. Once again, we only know some preliminary pricing based on retail listings, while official pricing will be revealed closer to launch. As for launch, the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X and Ryzen 7 9700X will be the first to hit store shelves on August 8, while the Ryzen 9 9900X and Ryzen 5 9950X will arrive on August 15.
